About John Green

Experience on Both Sides of the Courtroom

John Patrick Green is the founder of The Law Offices of John Green, a San Marcos law firm representing clients throughout Central Texas in criminal defense, personal injury, and Texas expunctions and nondisclosures.

John brings a perspective to his practice that is uncommon in private practice. Before becoming a defense attorney, he served as a prosecutor in Guadalupe County, where he gained firsthand experience evaluating cases, working with law enforcement, preparing cases for court, and advocating for the State. Today, he puts that experience to work for the people he represents.

John knows how the other side thinks—because he has been there.

That experience matters. A criminal charge can carry consequences far beyond the courtroom, and a personal injury can disrupt a person's life in ways that extend well beyond the initial accident. John approaches each case with a clear understanding of what is at stake and a focus on developing a strategy tailored to the circumstances of the individual client.

His connection to the justice system goes back even further. Both of John's parents served in law enforcement before retiring, giving him an early and personal understanding of the responsibilities carried by those who work within the criminal justice system. It also taught him the importance of treating people with respect, taking responsibility seriously, and understanding that every case involves a real person and real consequences.

John earned his J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law and has practiced throughout Guadalupe, Hays, and Comal Counties. Since opening his own firm in 2023, he has represented clients facing DWI charges, assault allegations, drug offenses, and other criminal matters, as well as clients injured in motor vehicle and other accidents. He also helps eligible clients pursue expunctions and nondisclosures when Texas law allows them to clear or limit the public impact of their criminal records.

John is licensed to practice law in Texas and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Texas for 2024, 2025, and 2026.

In 2026, John also sought election to the Guadalupe County Court at Law, returning to the same court where his legal career began as a prosecutor. The campaign reflected his continued commitment to the community he has served throughout his career.

Today, John remains focused on one thing: providing serious, capable legal representation when the outcome matters.

From his office in San Marcos, he represents clients across Central Texas with the experience, perspective, and personal attention their cases deserve.
